Thank You, Dr. Laferla. For everyone that looks at my blog, I want you guys to know that I'm able to do some of my work to my blog, from my awesome Ipad 2 that I won from my orthodontist. My dentist Dr. Laferla sponsered a MSSU college football game, and at half time picked 7 of his patients to go out on the 50 yd line and play a game of musical chairs and the last one standing (or who won) got a FREE Ipad 2. So I would like to give a big shout out to him and his employees, especially Larissa!!! Thank You.

I agree with you. A well delivered oral presentation can be really effective, through communication. A blog post can also be somewhat effective but I think a presentation would be the best choice. Thank you.

I really like the idea of getting to choose a project I wanted to do and not having to wonder how im going to get through a project I don't like, but I also agree with you it could become very overwhelming.

This is my first paragraph for my creative writing story:
Great.... Why does Mom and Dad have to argue and yell all the time? I just don't get get how they fight non-stop. It just irritates ma and makes me feel like they forget i'm even here. I sit in my room and think of how things use to be when we still lived in Utah. How I loved those days of picnics in the park, where we played tag, took pictures, and just had a good time as a whole family. and don't even get me started on the family vacations, those were the best!!! But now things are beginning to change, i'm not sure i'm going to like this change.
What do you guys think???

Creative Writing

In 5th hr. computer class we are creating stories, that could be fiction or non-fiction whatever the students choose. Some of us are working alone and others have partners. My story is a horror story which of course is fiction. I really like creative writing because I can use my imagination to create awesome stories about whatever I want.

I got to play with this app called LineTime for 2 days during class, on this application is a time line with dates and interesting facts. I compared using this app vs. the wiki page on the computer and found out a lot about this app, and what it can and cannot do.

Lemon Juice vs. Water

Problem- Can I use lemon juice to water my plants and grow the plant better then when I use water?

Background Knowledge-Most people water there plants with water. A lemon is a citrus fruit. The bean is from the leguminosae family. A bean is a seed.

Hypothesis- I predict the lemon juice will not make the bean plant grow better then water.

Materials:
2 beans
soil
water
lemon juice
graduated cylinder
2 cups
ruler
paper
pencil
measuring cup
scale

Method-Step 1. Go get your lab coat and goggles.
Step 2. Put your lab coat and goggles on.
Step 3. Get 2 beans and 2 cups.
Step 4. Put your name on both cups.
Step 5.Take your 2 beans and go weigh them.
Step 6. Then take your your 2 cups and put equally amounts of soil in them.
Step 7. Make a hole half way through the soil in both cups.(bout the width of your pinkie)
Step 8. Then, drop 1 bean in each hole, gently cover the bean with soil.
Step 9. Then, go get 10mL of water in a graduated cylinder.
Step 10. Pour the 10mL of water in one of the cups.
Step 11. Then, go get 10mL of lemon juice in a graduated cylinder.
Step 12. Pour the lemon juice in the other cup that has no water in it.
Step 13. Rinse the cylinders you used out and lay them out to dry.
Step 14. Write on the cups which one has the lemon juice and which one has the water in it.
Step 15. Lay your cups on the table Mr. Mayher has set up.

Collect Data- Made a graph

Conclusion- Since the plant watered with water grew more then the plant watered with lemon juice you could conclude that the citrus( or whatever else was in the lemon juice) can keep the bean plant from growing.

Questions to extend project-Could a bean plant watered with lemon juice grow faster than salt water? Can using manure make a bean plant grow faster than using regular soil?

Original Experiment Steps
Step 1. Gather your materials.
Step 2. Make observations.
Step 3. Fill each cup with 1/4 cups of soil.
Step 4. Make a hole with your finger.
Step 5. Put one bean in each hole in the cup. Cover your bean with soil.
Step 6.Put 10ml of water in one of the cups.
Step 7. In the other cup put 10mL of lemon juice.
Step 8.Write lemon juice on one popsicle stick and water on another.
Step 9. Gently stick the lemon juice popsicle stick in the lemon cup and the water stick in the water cup.
Step 10. Stick both where sunlight is available.
Step 11. Repeat watering the bean plants 10mL every other day. 10mL of lemon juice to the lemon juice cup and 10mL of water to the water cup for 3 weeks
Step 12. Use the ruler to see which plant is taller.
Step 13. Record data.

I had to write a revised copy because I left out many important steps in my experiment, like to stick the bean in the soil and other things like that. So it's good to always look over your work and correct it all the time because you might miss some important things.

Internet Safety Story

This new boy John comes to school and him and this girl Lisa start to get to know each other, So one day he passes her a note and it says to her "Get on this website www._______.com and it should take you into this chat room, there should be two more kids "Jen" and "Bob" on there to chat. So when the girl gets home she logs onto this website and is now in the chat room. So now in this chat room there is Jen this so called "kid" and Bob another so called "kid", Lisa and John. They all start to talk and by now Bob and Jen say to the kids " We should all get together and hang out" So Jen chats to Lisa "Hey give me your cell phone number and we'll talk back and forth and get a day where all of us can get together". So Lisa gives her number and they all start to chat some more. By the end of this chat room Lisa has given Bob and Jen her cellphone number, address, and email. What both kids Lisa and John don't know is that Bob and Jen are really undercover agents on this "chat room" trying to teach kids not to hand out their information to people they haven't even met before.
Soon the agents found out where the kids went to school. They went to Lisa and John's school and gave the whole school a informative speech about internet safety, what to watch out for and what you put online, it never goes away. Both kids learned to be safe online thanks to Jen and Bob, "two normal kids wanting to chat". Thanks for reading my story.
